Monday, April 9th, 2012 - Too Tired to Think up a Title

What's up guys, you read for your daily dose of me? I've managed to actually not forget to do this every other day for the past little bit, which is pretty nice, guess I might actually manage to get a few more posts out. What the fuck did I just write. Holy shit I'm tired right now. I need to stop going to bed at 2am. I don't really have a lot to write since I didn't leave my desk except to eat and do laundry today. Normally I at least go to school, but now that the semester's over, i barely leave my basement. That's probably not too healthy. Whatever.

As far as video output goes, I managed to record some more Mass Effect 3 stuff for tomorrow, which means that I was comfortable with putting up all of Minecraft life 6 I have so far today. The last video has about 30 minutes of uploading time left before it will be released, but I'll link it here anyway, since YouTube gives you the link as soon as you start uploading. Hopefully I'll be able to do more stuff tomorrow, and I can keep up my regular schedule for a few more days before I manage to forget and go a week without recording. Sunday, April 8th, 2012 - Movie Reviews!

Hey guys, so as I said yesterday, there were no videos today. I probably should have written my Mass Effect 2 review to make up for that fact, but instead I went and played random games with my friends for a few hours. Last night we ended up seeing Safe House and American Reunion. Safe House was really good if you're into action movies, all the stuff you'd expect: gun fights, car chases, murder out the ass, etc. I would suggest it if you're into that. American Reunion was pretty good, but I've never seen any other American Pie's, so I didn't get a lot of the jokes, and my friend explained a bunch to me since he's seen them all.  He seemed to enjoy it a lot more than me. If you've seen the rest of the American Pie's and liked them, I'd say check it out, but if you haven't, like me, I would watch the others (at least 1/2/Wedding, Beta House/Band Camp not AS necessary) first,. or just skip it altogether. I've yet to make a formal rating system for my blog, so I'm not gonna give them any star ratings, plus I'm really bad at doing that.

In YouTube news, I did a bunch of Minecraft recording today, so look for that tomorrow! It's about an hour and it should all go up tomorrow, assuming I record tomorrow, if I don't I'll do 30m Monday and 30m Tuesday.  Obviously no links, since there were no videos.  So, see y'all tomorrow!

Saturday, April 7th, 2012 - Mass Effect 3!

Hey guys, so I know I'm writing this pretty early today, after yesterday I said I wanted to write these at a specific time, which I still haven't managed to get a single post out at. I'm terrible at schedules. Like I said yesterday, I spent the day with some of my friends from high school since they all came home from university this weekend. Went to lunch together and had an all around good time. We're planning on going to see a movie later tonight at my local drive-in, either Safe House + American Reunion, or Wrath of the Titans + 21 Jump St., not sure yet. I'll discuss my thoughts on that tomorrow, probably.

For those that don't care at all about me as a person, and just want my content, I posted the ME2 finale today (finally!) as well as started ME3, with episodes 1&2. I didn't manage to get any recording done today between my test, lunch, studying, and movies, but I plan on doing some tomorrow. Because of the mass Effect spam though, this means I have nothing to post tomorrow. Sorry! I should record some random game and keep it as like a reserve or something in case this happens again. Also, since I finished ME2, I'll be doing my review on that soon, probably some time this week, so look for that here! Friday, April 6th, 2012 - Video Spam

So, once again I'm writing this a lot later than I like to. For the new people I typically try to write pretty close to 9pm EST, so I'm about an hour late today. Whatever, I was busy not studying. I have my first exam tomorrow morning, and it's in economics, which is an elective, and a complete bollocks course, with no sense of using proper variables or mathematics in it's calculations. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm an engineer, and I do a LOT of very complex math, but in economics they simplify the math down so hard it's barely even math anymore, and then they try to teach you not to use math and use "your knowledge of economics" to solve questions. Fuck that shit, I'll take my calculus any day. A specific example is they wanted me top calculate the slope of a line using some made up equation, but I was like fuck that, I'll derive that bitch, and afterwards I get to an answer, and I'm told it's wrong. I'm sorry, is my calculus to hardcore for your pussy economic bullshit? ARRGGGHHH NERD RAGE.

In less angry and mathematical news, I did absolutely no recording today, which is to be expected when I have an exam 11 hours from time of writing (10pm EST). I uploaded most of the Mass Effect 2 stuff I have, except the final episode, which should go up tomorrow, as well as the first couple episodes of Mass Effect 3! Finally! I also just realized if I do that, I will have 0 footage ready for Sunday, and I'm planning on spending the day with some friends who are coming home for the weekend, but I'll still try to get some done when I get back. Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012 - The Return!

Hey guys! I know there's actually a couple of you who read my blog, so first of all I'd like to apologize for being gone for so long. I enjoy writing, but sometimes I get discouraged because I feel like I write poorly, or I just kind of get distracted and forget about the blog since it takes a lot more time than just doing videos.  I really do want to get back into doing these, though, so I can talk about a lot of the stuff that I can't fit into my videos, or I just don't think about while recording. I don't know how much I'll write today, but I plan for the format of these to go back to the way it was before after this post, a paragraph or two of something interesting, followed by video links and any information that may pertain to YouTube (i.e. whether I record or not, new series's, no-video days, etc.).

Today the main things I want to say are that I'm back, and I hope you guys are enjoying Minecraft Hardcore so far. I've been getting some good feedback, and plan on recording life 3 this afternoon. I have some ideas on how to possibly make it a little more interesting or exciting, but I'll talk about those in the life 3 videos. They should go up probably the 4th (tomorrow at time of writing) as long as I do actually get them recorded. Mass Effect 2 is slowing down a lot as some may have noticed, but I still will finish it, viewers or not, as I still need to play through it to get my evil character ready for Mass Effect 3, and maybe in the future people will go back and watch it, and I want it to be completed.

I also have been upgrading most of my computer peripherals over the last couple weeks (monitors, keyboard, mouse, headset), although the headset was in January. I tried to make a video showing some stuff off yesterday, and after 2 failed recordings of YouTube messing things up, I decided to get a proper webcam recorder, and then I got busy and had no time to do the video. I'll do that today as well, probably before Minecraft life 3.

This turned out pretty long, which is to be expected after 2 weeks off I guess, but I'm going to publish it now, even though it's only 1pm, but I don't really want to be tempted to add to it, because it doesn't need to be any longer. So, hopefully I will talk to you tomorrow.

Monday, March 12th, 2012 - Indefinite Hiatus

So, due to some problems in my life I am going to have to take a break from things such as YouTube, gaming, and blogging. I apologize for this inconvenience, and I will try to be back as soon as possible, but be warned that I have no idea when as soon as possible is. It may be a week, it may be a year, it may be never. I made a video about this on my YouTube and I explained some things in more detail.

Saturday, March 3rd, 2012 - Words

How are you today, Internet? Because I am just swell. Had a long and unproductive day as usual, and enjoyed it. I apologize for not writing anything yesterday, as I had a calculus test and didn't get home until 10:00pm and was too tired to write coherent sentences.  I don't really have any funny or interesting stories today, as I never even left my house today.  So, as per usual, I will just keep saying nothing until I feel that I have written enough words.

In YouTube news, I did some recording today and finished Mass Effect 1. The videos will go up over the next 3 days with the last ones going up on the 5th, the day before ME3 comes out. Now, I realize this means I will have 0 days to do ME2; however, I realized a while ago that I would have no chance of finishing this project at the rate I put out videos. I will still be doing ME2 before ME3; however, I may play ME3 off camera on my good character while playing ME2 on camera on my evil character, so it will most likely be my second run when you see me doing ME3, so, sorry if you like blind LP's.  I'm posting the first video of tonight's session now, but it won't be up for about another hour, so check back soon!

I almost typed February in the title. Woops. I know I said I was going to try to get better at writing in a more interesting format, but unfortunately for both of us, I haven't. I don't even have anything to talk about. The most interesting thing I did today was plug capacitors into a bread board for an electrical physics lab. Yup, I am indeed boring.

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012 - Leap Day

Hello! And welcome to another exciting episode of.........  DREW'S BLOG (cheers from crowd). Today is February 29th, leap day. Did I do anything special for leap day like a lot of other people, you ask? Nope! I'm just super boring like that! If you can't tell by this point, I'm stalling and trying to make this paragraph as long as possible, without putting any content in it, because I didn't do anything today other than take notes in class and do crap loads of integration to prep for my test Friday. That; however, looks like enough words to fill an adequate amount of space.

Onto YouTube news! I was planning on recording a little tonight, but didn't get the time, so there may not be Friday videos, depends if I get a chance tomorrow.  I threw up 2 episodes of Mass Effect today as well, and YouTube is still fighting me over monetization settings, which doesn't really matter I guess when you're making $2 a month and you need $100 before you can get paid.  Whatever. I don't know if I'm allowed to tell you that, I din't really read the contract. Please don't ban me YouTube!

Friday, February 24th, 2012 - Almost home

So, when you're reading this I'm probably just landing in Toronto (I'm writing this at 10am but not posting it till later to make sure I don't forget).  I know that doesn't really make sense, make a blog post about my day before my day has even started, but whatever, I don't really care, I barely talk about my day on these anymore because I suck at trying to put thoughts into words.  Especially interesting words.  Sometimes I have good days and am able to write a lot and have some interesting things to say, but not most days.  And that is why I basically turned my blog into a YouTube notification feed for my videos.

It's not like I don't do anything interesting, I mean, not all my days are interesting, but even when I have a day that would be a good read, I am incapable of putting it into words.  I mean, I guess that's why I'm an engineer, we only have to write one paper over our entire four years, and it was only 2 pages double spaced.  I suck at English and creative writing, even though it interests me.  I wish I was a better creative writer.  I guess LP commentary is kind of like very unedited and messy creative writing if you think of it like that.

Anyway, I think I've bored you long enough with my woes and inability to write, so here are today's Mass Effect episodes.  Also, tomorrow I will be going back to posting at normal times, the videos have been late cause I've been on west coast time for a week.

Saturday, February 4th, 2012 - Picture!

Another day gone by.  Another day closer to the end of the semester, that's all today really was.  Spent the whole day reading my textbooks to catch up for work I missed last week due to tests.  Put up another BioShock video here and I'll probably throw up one more right now (which should be posted in ~2-3h).  Didn't do any playing of BioShock today, was just too tired as I stayed up till 3am last night and woke up at 9am today.  Will do some tomorrow after I finish off the rest of my work, though.

I need to pick a topic for these things or something, rather than just talking about my day.  I mean, that shit seems kinda gay to begin with, and with the fact I do absolutely nothing interesting to read about during my day makes for some boring blog posts.  I need topics to discuss, but in order to find good topics I would need viewer suggestions, but in order to get more viewers to make suggestions I would need good topics.  Oh, the woes of an unpopular blogger.

I guess I can talk about the mangled printer beside me.  My dad broke his printer, and couldn't figure out what was wrong (it ended up being a gear that had come off it's axle) and gave it to me to dismantle, cause I have fun screwing with anything electronic.  I am a computer engineer, after all.  Took the whole thing apart, every single screw I could find and took out every single component.  That's a picture of it in it's broken up glory ---->

Hmm.  I like how that inline picture with words next to  it looks.  I need to add more pictures to these in future.  I wish the camera on my phone worked, but I screwed it up.  Put on custom firmware that didn't have camera drivers, and now there's an updated version WITH camera drivers, but for some reason my computer can't see my phone when I plug it in anymore.  If anyone has a Sony Ericson Xperia X10 and is using custom Gingerbread OS and knows why my PC can't see my phone, please help!

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 - Woops!

Wow, day 2 and I almost forgot.  What a way to start.  It's pretty late right now and I'm a little intoxicated, so this is gonna be shit, but here goes.

Started out at 8:30 like I do almost everyday, I hate waking up early, yet it is the only way I can be productive.  I feel as if when I start late, I always just wake up before my classes, and when I finish I do nothing, with early days I wake up early, complain, get home early, and actually DO work, or record.  Oh, ya, reason I haven't started Bioshock yet is cause yesterday and today I had tests and got home after 9 and had no time to do anything, but tomorrow I should have some time, so maybe videos Saturday.  Wow, that was a tangent.

Um, on topic, not much to say about classes, I think I had 2 lectures today, so that's nice, but not a lot to talk about.  Had a physics test a few hours ago though, think I did pretty well, could've studied harder, but I'm a lazy ass motherfucker.  That is a fact.

I also beat Uplink today, I guess.  Well, I completed the story missions, but you can still keep playing, or start again and compete the story for the other company.  I think that's the "evil" quest line, whereas I tend to go good my first play through of games, I guess I'm not a psychopath like that.  Well, except in GTA/Saints Row, in them I just murder the fuck outta people, but in most games I go good.

I also started watching a show called Californication a couple weeks ago, and just finished season one tonight.  It's a pretty good show, you should check it out.  It's about a writer who has a family but he doesn't really write, but he's a writer.  It's a comedy/drama I guess.

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012 - Getting Started

8:00AM:  Alright guys, before I start I should explain some stuff.  My name is Drew, but online I go by devilwarier9. I mentioned sect4 in my last post which is my old website which most likely gives you some error, my friend ThePurplePixel over here was my sysadmin, but having started university he moved out and I think he took down the web server when he did, although it's not like it really matters, I barely used the site except for blog posts, which as you can guess I'm now moving here.  The way this will work is much like it did on my old site, I will most likely write the posts a couple paragraphs at a time throughout the day then publish it all at the end of the day.  When I do things this way I tend to have longer posts, if not nonsensical.  My goal is one post every weekday and one on weekends, some posts will be longer, some won't, you're gonna have to deal with it.

8:30AM:  A little background on me real quick is in order I guess, like I said my name is Drew, I am 18 and going to university for Computer Engineering and am currently in my freshman year.  I love physics and math which is very abnormal, but I don't give a fuck.  I'm also very profane, but I still don't give a fuck.  I love android and windows and hate everything Apple.  Love almost any meat, hate almost any vegetable.  I'm super underweight at 125lb's and 6'1" tall.  I live in Canada and it's fucking awesome.  I play a lot of video games and sometimes I record them over here.  I think that about does it for me, see you guys in a couple hours when I write the next bit!

9:00AM:  I really need to pay more attention in class.  My prof is talking about trigonometric integration and I'm really not in the mood to listen so I end up just not listening, although today Is probably one of the most important days to listen as I have a test in this class tonight.  Ugh, doing work is so much... work.

10:00AM:  Physics is boring. That's all I got. Also this is probably gonna be the longest post that will ever get posted. So, enjoy it, cause I won't be doing hourly updates every day, shit's a lot of work and I don't have that much to say.

11:00AM:   Drawing for engineers is a bullshit class.  When in life am I going to be forced to draw a perfectly straight and 100% accurate drawing without any rulers or tools? And more-so, if I am, I sure as hell won't be fired if it's not perfect, seriously, they expect so much perfection in freehand drawings.  Bullshit class is bullshit.

12:00PM:  MMMMMmmmmmmm chicken quesadilla and YouTube video's for lunch. I do enjoy this time of day if I do say so.  Also playing some Uplink based on a friends suggestion, it's a very fun game. 

1:00PM: Material sciences sucks. A lot. Never take it unless you have to (which I do). Not much else to say right now.

1:30PM: So, I'm done all my classes for the day.  Great, right?  Not today.  I have a test at 8:30 tonight and driving home takes way more effort than I'm willing to put in (live 30m from campus) so now I just get to sit in the library for the next 7 hours. Greeeeaaaatttt...  I probably won't make another update till after the test cause all I'll be doing for the next SEVEN HOURS will be studying and playing Uplink or watching YouTube videos.  See y'all then!

4:30PM:  SO FUCKING BORED!

5:00PM:  Just got an email from YouTube saying they want to start paying me!  Awesome!  Probably won't make very much as I get very few views, but it'll still be something, so that's pretty cool. Right now I only have the WoW videos ad supported as I have to do each one individually and I doubt anyone will watch my old series's.  I wonder if new videos get automatic ads?  That'd be nice, as I am almost guaranteed to not be at a PC when my video's go up cause I always set it to upload in class or overnight.  I guess we'll find out. 

5:30PM:  Ok, so I went and put monetization up on everything but Psychonauts cause it's a lot of parts, and 1 Borderlands video cause it just won't let me, the option for monetization just doen't show up, and only for that video.  It WOULD be my most popular video (by far), too.  Although I say that like it still gets views, which it doesn't, just has the highest views, and you only get paid for new views, so I guess it doesn't really matter.  If you want to go check out my YouTube RIGHT NOW.  You know, if you want...

8:00PM: I suck at Uplink. It's really fun, but the "file deleted on death" can be very rage inducing at times.

10:30PM:  Just got home after my calculus test.  My god that was a long day.  At least I have a website to vent about my day to now, so that's cool.  In future I'll probably just write a couple paragraphs at the end of the day, rather than this whole timeline thing.  It seems like a nice style, but I just don't do very much in an average day.
